Jeremiah Porten

Jeremiah Porten has a strong background in engineering and management roles. Jeremiah currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Checkr, Inc. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Checkr, Inc. from 2021 to 2023 and Engineering Manager from 2019 to 2021. Before joining Checkr, Inc., Jeremiah worked at Globality, Inc. as the Director of Engineering from 2016 to 2019. Jeremiah also served as an Engineering Manager at Location Labs from 2010 to 2016. Jeremiah's career began at CKC Engineering, where they worked as a Lead Engineer from 2007 to 2010, contributing to technical design and collaborating with Quality Assurance. Prior to CKC Engineering, they were an Application Consultant at Alliance Systems from 2001 to 2007, leading projects and guiding customers through the sales process. Jeremiah started their career as an Application Engineer at Stevens Communications from 1999 to 2001, where they implemented telephony products and achieved notable success in installations.

Jeremiah Porten holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco, which they obtained from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in April 2018.
