overview—what you do

The VP of Creative Production will lead the evolution of the creative production function at Circa Healthcare and continually drive excellence in efficiency and effectiveness of the production discipline. This is a leadership role that will contribute to creative leadership, strategy, and future direction.

The VP of Creative Production directs and leads the creative production function (art and copy studio, print and digital production, editorial) so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations, work style, and other elements support the strategic goals and objectives of Circa Healthcare and their clients. This role holds accountability for leading the creative production team to efficiently and effectively produce a broad range of print, video, and digital advertising and marketing materials that meet or exceed agency and client expectations by setting priorities, driving strategies and ensuring optimal cross-functional collaboration. This role will manage, mentor and develop other members of the creative production team and collaborate with other department or group managers. This role will be a high-level contributor as well and support the creative production team with high priority deliverables.

  • Develops a vision and executes a plan to evolve the creative production function at Circa.
  • Motivates, mentors/develops, and leads a high-performance team; attract, recruit, and retain required members of the creative production team.
  • Provides the business acumen, leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure the creative production team goals are met.
  • Plays a critical role in resource planning, both on a daily basis as well as long-term staffing plans; coordinates with management peers to plan and resource appropriately

Anticipates production needs, scenario plans, and accesses potential risks to reset priorities, resolves any internal barriers and challenges, mitigates risks that impact delivery, quality, or cost

  • Collaborates with the various Creative Department members, Project Management, Strategy, and Client Services to manage project expectations and build trusted relationships.

  • Accountable for production file organization ensuring specs and production quality are maintained and kept current.

  • Spearheads improvements to software, tools, processes, and industry trends that will aid in creative production quality, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve workflow

  • Oversees production sourcing and management of usage rights for all assets (fonts, images, videos, and more).

  • Provides insight and research to team to confirm or develop project specifications and inform timelines, estimates, pricing, and budgets.

  • Oversees and assists in management of intake of creative production team workload, conducting daily evaluations of workload balance and assignments in conjunction with SVP, Creative.

  • Strengthens client relations and interprets client interdependencies to the creative production team.

  • Assists SVP, Creative in creating and implementing departmental strategic goals.

  • May lead and develops presentations, workshops, trainings, and internal resources/guides.

  • Oversees, analyzes the need, and approves use of vendors in conjunction with SVP, Creative.

  • All other duties as assigned.

qualifications—what you bring to the table

  • BA/BS degree preferred in Graphic Design/Advertising, Project Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Several years relevant experience that achieved growth at a creative advertising/digital advertising agency; strong digital advertising experience, and several years in a people management role.
  • Superior presentation, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, well organized, team leader who serves as a resource and mentor others, as well as support the Senior VP Team.
  • Excellent planning, delegation, time management, mentoring and people management skills.
  • Demonstrates and advocates for the Not Normal brand and our values.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the industry standard software and systems.
  • Extensive experience in digital advertising and DTC.
  • Experience with Editorial departments and overseeing Editorial work.
  • Mastery of printing, video, and digital production processes and knowledge.

Circa has a flex remote policy in which we ask employees to be flexible with us and make the most of the opportunities we create to be together. Employees are encouraged to come into the office for key meetings, at their manager’s request, and for engagement events (outlined in Handbook). We are headquartered in PA, and the majority of our workforce lives in the Eastern Standard time zone. We require that employees, wherever they may live, be available during East Coast business hours as their standard business day.

This job operates in a professional office environment with a flex remote option. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The job is sedentary work and involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally. You may exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
