Stephanne Payne

Stephanne Payne has extensive work experience in information security and governance roles. Stephanne is currently serving as the Director of Information Security at Cradlepoint since 2022. Previously, they worked at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, starting in 2003. Stephanne'sroles at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee included Information Security Manager (GRC) from October 2019 to August 2022, Acting Director of Information Security (GRC and CyberThreat Mgmt) from November 2021 to June 2022, IS Team Lead & Acting Manager (IT Governance & Training) from January 2017 to October 2019, and InterPlan Performance Analyst (Operational Governance) from April 2003 to January 2017. At BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Stephanne oversaw the expansion of SOC2, incorporated a privacy assessment, streamlined governance documentation, and managed audit and assessment requirements. Stephanne also led security governance, risk, compliance, awareness, and cyberthreat management teams and played a key role in determining the future strategy and organization of the Information Security department.

Stephanne Payne's education history begins in 2003 when they attended Chattanooga State Community College. Stephanne studied Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster during their time there and graduated in 2007. After a few years, they returned to Chattanooga State from 2008 to 2012 and obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Physical Sciences.

In 2011, Stephanne enrolled at Oregon State University and pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Wildlife Biology. Stephanne successfully completed their studies in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Stephanne has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they obtained the ITIL Foundations certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. The following year, in 2019, they obtained the COBIT 2019 Foundations certification from ISACA, certifying their knowledge in IT governance.

Most recently, Stephanne has obtained three certifications in the field of information security. In 2021, they achieved the Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification from ISACA. Stephanne also obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2 in June 2021, as well as the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in December 2021.
