Roy Someshwar, PhD, MBA has extensive experience in design, user experience, and product management. Roy is currently serving as the Vice President of Design and User Experience at Cropin Technologies, where they have led the design and AI innovation organization, creating AI products for B2B2C micro lending, insurance, and credit card services. Prior to this, Roy worked at Connect-In, where they held roles as a Senior Vice President, a member of the Board of Directors, and a Senior Director of Product and User Experience. Roy was responsible for key negotiations and acquisitions of IP assets and patent portfolios, including deals with Samsung Electronics. Roy also worked as a Mentor of UX Strategy & Product Design at Google Campus, where they mentored startups in shaping their UX strategies and building a UX-first culture. Roy was a Research Scientist and Team Lead at Google, contributing to the localization and expansion of Google Search and Google Assistant for the Indian market. Roy has also co-founded a boutique design studio called MyPod LLP, serving as the Co-Founder and Creative Director, offering UI/UX solutions and data-driven user insights. Additionally, they have held leadership roles at the Marie Curie Alumni Association, University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe/Germany, the EU Marie Curie PhD Programme in Robotics, Erasmus Mundus Association, and the European Commission, all focusing on user experience, digital transformation, and community building. Roy Someshwar, PhD, MBA has an extensive education history. Roy obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Computer Interaction from the EU Marie Curie PhD Programme in Robotics, completing their studies from 2010 to 2013. In 2008, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Industrial and Product Design from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Roy also engaged in various research programs abroad. In 2013, they became a Visiting Ph.D. Research Scholar at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, focusing on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). Roy continued their research as a Visiting Ph.D. Research Scholar at the University of Bristol in the UK, specializing in Human Factors and Ergonomics from 2011 to 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Ph.D. Research Scholar at Umeå University in Sweden, concentrating on Psychology and Interaction Design from 2010 to 2011.

Further expanding their knowledge, Roy pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Product Management and Design Thinking at Bar-Ilan University from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, in 2009, they accomplished a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Design Engineering from Universidad de Oviedo in Spain.

Aside from their academic achievements, Roy also attained additional certifications. Roy completed the "Leading with Emotional Intelligence" certification from LinkedIn in 2021 and achieved the "Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner" certification from IBM in 2020.
