Bruce Culleton

VP & Chief Medical Officer, Kidney Care at CVS Health

Bruce Culleton is currently the VP, Chief Medical Officer - Kidney Care at CVS Health. Bruce has previously served as the World Wide Vice President, Medical Affairs and Vice President, Global Clinical Development for Becton Dickinson from January 2016 to December 2017. From July 2007 to March 2016, they were the Vice President at Baxter International Inc., where they were responsible for renal therapeutic area input into new product development, sustaining product activities, clinical study strategy, and patient safety. Bruce also provided medical leadership to the Renal business to support long term growth. Prior to that, they were an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary from June 1999 to July 2007, where they were a core team member that established the Alberta Kidney Disease Network (AKDN), a internationally recognized research initiative to improve the health and well-being of patients with kidney disease. Bruce has also served as the Director of the Progressive Kidney Disease Clinic and the Peritoneal Dialysis Program, and chaired the Clinical Practice Quality Committee for the Southern Alberta Renal Program. Bruce has also practiced as a nephrologist responsible for in-patient, out-patient and dialysis care in a catchment area of 1.5 million people. Bruce has provided lecture-based and bed-side clinical teaching to medical students and residents, and served as research mentor for undergraduate and post-graduate students.

Bruce Culleton has a MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and a MPH in Epidemiology from Boston University. Bruce also has an MD and FRCPC in Medicine from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
