Salinda Samarakoon

Salinda Samarakoon has a diverse work experience that spans multiple roles and companies. In 2018, Salinda worked as an Academic Intern at MAS Holdings. In 2019, they joined Alibaba Group as a Graduate Management Trainee. During this time, Salinda gained valuable experience in various aspects of management. Later in 2019, Salinda joined Daraz, where they held several roles. Salinda started as part of the Daraz Future Leadership Program, where they led a project to set up Seller Drop-Off Hubs, optimizing logistics and reducing costs. Salinda then became the Manager of Operations Performance, overseeing planning and coordination for the 11.11 campaign. Salinda later transitioned into the role of Project Manager, where they successfully managed the Mobile Week Campaign in 2021. Currently, Salinda holds the position of Senior Project Manager to the COO at Daraz, leading a strategic cost improvement initiative to increase efficiency and reduce expenses. Through their contributions, Salinda has achieved significant savings for the department.

Salinda Samarakoon completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University between 2016 and 2019.
