Michiel Kamp

Michiel Kamp has extensive experience in the field of data and insights. Michiel started their career as a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant at Keyrus Belgium in 2008, where they gradually expanded their skills and responsibilities. Michiel worked on gathering business requirements, designing functional solutions, and supporting reporting and analysis.

In 2013, Michiel became a BI & MDM Project Manager at AbbVie, a leading pharmaceutical company. Michiel was involved in implementing a new SAP solution and developing a data warehousing and reporting system.

After that, Michiel joined Telenet as a BI Business Team Manager, where they managed a team of 13 analysts focusing on different domains within the company. Michiel also gained experience in people management and team growth.

In 2018, Michiel moved to VodafoneZiggo as an Agile BI Team Manager and Self Service and Visualization Strategy Consultant. Michiel worked on designing roadmaps, securing budgets, and delivering end products for various projects and programs in the customer operations domain.

Michiel's next role was Head of Data at Yolt, where they played a key role in developing an innovative money management app that provided users with a clear overview of their finances. Michiel also focused on creating saving habits for individuals.

From 2019 to 2022, Michiel worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant at Zaaksysteem.nl, where they helped cities and governments leverage process management software by providing insights through SAAS dashboards.

In 2022, Michiel returned to VodafoneZiggo as Manager Data & Insights and Chapter Lead Big Data Engineering. Michiel took over as the director of the data and insights department and managed the team until 2023.

Currently, Michiel is working as a Data Strategist at dataroots, where they apply their expertise to help organizations maximize the potential of available data.

Michiel Kamp completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Management with a focus on Management Information Systems and Services at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences from 2002 to 2004.

In 2005, Michiel obtained certification in Project Management Foundation from Cevora.

Michiel then earned an ITIL Foundation Certificate from EXAM in 2006.

In 2007, Michiel completed the Cognos 8 Certification program at Cognos Academy.

In 2008, they attended Kimball University for intensive study in Data Modeling and Data Warehouse Lifecycle.

Michiel obtained additional certifications in Project Management as a Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Scrum Product Owner from Agile8 community in 2012 and as a Certified Product Owner from the same institution in 2013.

In 2010, they obtained the Cognos Reporting Author certification from IBMcognos.
