Tonje Jenssen Espeland

Tonje Jenssen Espeland is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in preparedness, crisis management, and research. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the Direktoratet for samfunnssikkerhet og beredskap (DSB) since August 2013, Tonje has also held various research assistant roles at notable institutions, including the University of Bergen, the United Nations University-EHS, and the German Development Institute. Notable contributions include work on the LINGCLIM research project and involvement in the emBRACE project focused on building disaster resilience in European communities. Tonje's educational background includes a Master of Science from Maastricht University, a Master of Arts from the University of Cologne, and a Bachelor of Arts from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, supplemented by an exchange year at the University of California, Berkeley.
