Lawrence Diao

General Partner at Dragonfly Capital Partners

Lawrence Diao is a general partner at Dragonfly Capital Partners. Lawrence has also served as the co-founder and president of Basis, and as a software engineer at Google. Diao began their career as a quantitative researcher and developer at Radix Trading, and later at Blander Technologies (now Radix Trading). Lawrence has also interned at Sift Science and D. E. Shaw & Co. as a software developer, and at Google as a software engineering intern. Diao is a co-inventor of three U.S. patents.

Lawrence Diao attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology from 2006 to 2010, where they earned an Advanced Studies Diploma. Lawrence then attended Princeton University from 2010 to 2014, earning a B.S.E. in Computer Science. During their time at Princeton, they were involved in the Varsity Sprint Football, Princeton Cycling Team, Cannon Dial Elm Club, Tau Beta Pi, Phi Beta Kappa, and Sigma Xi. Lawrence also earned a Certificate (Minor) in Statistics and Machine Learning.
