Matthew Denny

Director Nuclear Engineering at Duke Energy

Matthew Denny has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Matthew began their career as a Component Design Engineer at General Dynamics / Electric Boat Div. in 1987. After that, they worked as a Program Engineer at Northeast Utilities Service Company, where they coordinated and implemented various programs related to erosion/corrosion, inservice inspection, HVAC testing, and vibration analysis. In 1997, they joined Duke Energy Corporation as a Lead Engineer and worked their way up to roles such as Engineering Programs Supervisor, BOP Systems Supervisor, Nuclear Oversight Superintendent, and finally, Director of Nuclear Engineering. Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated strong leadership skills, overseeing diverse teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and successfully managing projects and programs.

Matthew Denny holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Operations Management and Supervision from Rensselaer at Work. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven.
