Ian Osbon

Manager - Cloud Infrastructure at eGain

Ian Osbon has a diverse work experience in the field of cloud infrastructure and customer support. Ian began their career as a Technical Support Engineer at DPD International, where they provided technical support to customers for the fax solution Gold-Fax. After working there for four years, they joined eGain Corporation as a Level 1 Application Support Specialist, where they became the first point of contact for customer support enquiries and escalated complex issues to the appropriate team members. Ian then moved up to the role of Hosting Engineer at eGain, where they assisted in the day-to-day management of the EMEA eGain Cloud, including patch management, hardware maintenance, and system commissioning. Ian then progressed to the position of Senior Cloud Services Engineer, where they mentored new members of the Cloud team, managed major projects, and designed and built an enhanced version of the EMEA eGain Cloud with improved secure networking. In their most recent roles, Ian served as a Senior Cloud Team Lead and Manager - Cloud Infrastructure Operations at eGain, overseeing ongoing Cloud projects, supervising the Cloud team, and acting as the main point of contact for internal teams regarding eGain Cloud-related matters.

Ian Osbon pursued their education at Leeds Beckett University from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a 2:2 degree in Computing - Computer Communications. Furthermore, they have also acquired several additional certifications. These include the CompTIA CySA+ ce Certification, CompTIA Security Analytics Professional - CSAP Stackable Certification, and CompTIA Security+ ce Certification, which were all obtained in October 2020, July 2018, and November 2001 respectively. Ian also holds a Microsoft Certified Professional certification, received in November 2001.
