Soban Chawre

Soban Chawre has a diverse work experience in the field of semiconductor design and verification. They started their career as an Applications Engineer at Synopsys, where they provided technical support for the testbench tool Vera and worked on prototype projects using SystemVerilog-VMM.

They then moved on to LSI Corporation as an ASIC Design Engineer before joining Broadcom as an Engineer Staff - IC Design. At Broadcom, they were involved in the verification of ARM-based mobile phone applications processors at both block-level and system-level. They also created constrained-random verification environments from scratch using SystemVerilog and SV-VMM methodology.

Afterwards, Soban joined AMD as a Senior Design Engineer and worked on various design projects before transitioning to Vitesse Semiconductor as a Member Technical Staff.

They then joined Qualcomm as a Senior Lead Design Verification Consultant, where they were responsible for the design verification of a Digital Power Meter. This involved developing an AHB Slave interface for CSR registers and implementing programmable uCode based calculators.

Following their time at Qualcomm, Soban worked at Samsung Austin Research Center as a Senior Staff Engineer and was responsible for undisclosed responsibilities.

Their next role was at Verilab as a Principal Design Verification Engineer. Here, Soban architected and developed a scalable environment using SV-UVM for verifying a system-on-chip (SoC) platform. They also carried out design verification of an image processing block for an augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) client.

Most recently, Soban worked at Groq as a Design Verification Engineer, focusing on the design verification of Vector Execution Units and the Chip Control Unit of a machine learning accelerator chip. They were also involved in mentoring interns and consultants, as well as driving automation and performance improvement of testbenches.

Currently, Soban holds the position of Principal Verification Engineer at Elastics.cloud, Inc. where they are responsible for undisclosed responsibilities.

Soban Chawre has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics from the University of Mumbai. Additionally, Soban has obtained certifications including "Git Essential Training: The Basics" from LinkedIn and a Post-Graduate Diploma in VLSI Design from CDAC.
