Kelly Lyn Warfield has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of science and development. Kelly Lyn is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Science and Development at Emergent BioSolutions, where they are responsible for overseeing the development activities for a portfolio of candidates in the areas of travel health, emerging infectious diseases, and biodefense. In their previous role as the Vice President of Vaccines and Anti-infectives R&D at Emergent BioSolutions, they established the R&D vision and strategy and was accountable for a budget of over $100M per annum. Kelly has also held leadership positions at other organizations, including Adaptive Phage Therapeutics, Learning Undefeated, and Women-In-Bio Capital Region Advisory Board. Additionally, they have made significant contributions in the development of vaccines and therapeutics at Integrated BioTherapeutics, Inc. and USAMRIID. Before their professional career, Kelly gained valuable research experience as a student intern at the National Cancer Institute.

Kelly Lyn Warfield received their B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Loyola University Maryland in 1997. Kelly Lyn later pursued a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Virology at Baylor College of Medicine, completing their degree in 2002. In 2022, they obtained a Certificate of Professional Achievement in Executive Development from Kellogg Executive Education.
