Jingyi Xie

Senior Staff Scientist at Enevate

Jingyi Xie has a wealth of experience in research and development. Jingyi began their career in 2005 as a Research Assistant at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, where they developed a new and facile method to prepare carbon nanotube based transparent film, as well as a flexible photolithographic process for micropatterning of binary active proteins at precise locations on polymer films. In 2011, they moved to Kansas State University, where they served as a Research Associate and Research Assistant. In 2017, they joined Rust-Oleum Corporation as an R&D Scientist, where they were responsible for resin synthesis from soy oil for coating application, including the synthesis of soy based hydrophobic hybrid latex, the synthesis and scale-up of reactive dilute from soy bean oil, and the prototype formulation of soy oil based resin into coating. In 2021, they joined Enevate Corporation as a Senior Staff Scientist.

Jingyi Xie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology between 2001 and 2005. Jingyi then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from the same institution between 2005 and 2011. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University between 2011 and 2015.
