Iain Barlow

Principal Scientist (Surface Chemistry) at evonetix

Iain Barlow has over 15 years of work experience in various scientific roles. Iain is currently a Principal Scientist (Surface Chemistry) at Evonetix Ltd, where they have been working since 2015. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Scientist (Surface Chemistry) at the same company from 2018 to 2023 and worked as a Synthetic Organic Chemist from 2015 to 2018. Before joining Evonetix Ltd, they worked as a Lead Chemist at CamStent Ltd. from 2014 to 2015. Iain also has research experience from their time at the University of Sheffield, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on industrially funded and EPSRC funded projects from 2003 to 2014. Iain'sresearch focused on the design, synthesis, and application of novel non-biofouling systems for biomedical coatings, as well as the development of adsorbates for 2-photon lithographic applications. Iain has experience in synthesis, characterisation, quantification, and process development, and has published patents and academic manuscripts.

Iain Barlow completed their MChem degree in Chemistry at Durham University from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Surface Chemistry at The University of Sheffield from 2003 to 2007.
