Alexander Heifetz

Senior Principal Scientist at Evotec

Alexander Heifetz has over 20 years of experience in computational chemistry and drug discovery. Alexander currently works as a Senior Principal Scientist at Evotec, where they specialize in molecular modeling and informatics techniques. Alexander has been instrumental in the success of numerous medicinal chemistry projects and has developed novel computational methods for GPCR modeling and protein-ligand interactions. Prior to their current role, they worked at Biosystems Informatics Institute and EPIX Pharmaceuticals, where they were involved in protein-protein interaction modeling and computational chemistry. Alexander also held a Royal Society Industrial Fellowship at The Royal Society, collaborating with the University of Oxford on predicting the structures of GPCR-ligand complexes. Additionally, Heifetz is a Co-Partner at CompBioMed. Their expertise in computational chemistry and drug discovery has made significant contributions to the field.

Alexander Heifetz earned their M. Sc. in Modeling of protein-protein interactions from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where they studied from 1994 to 1997. Alexander later obtained their PhD in Computational Chemistry from the same institution, graduating between 1997 and 2002.
