Philipp Harnik has held several positions in the past several years. Philipp is currently working as the Executive Assistant to Co-Chair and former President Dr. Heinz Fischer and Organisational Associate at the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, and as Events and Stakeholder Management at Love Politics, both starting in 2022. In 2021, they were a Project Intern at IOM - UN Migration. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Learning Consultant at Beyond Reform and Development, an Intern at Alfanar Venture Philanthropy, and a Research Assistant at the American University of Beirut. From 2016 to 2018, they were Co-President and Scholarship Coordination Officer at Club Alpbach London, a Team Leader at 180 Degrees Consulting, and a Foreign Service Intern at the Austrian Embassy and Permanent Representation to the United Nations.

Philipp Harnik has a diverse educational background. Philipp began their educational journey in 2005 at Graz International Bilingual School, where they completed their High School degree in 2006. From 2010 to 2011, they attended Worthing College, where they also completed their High School degree. In 2014, they enrolled at King's College London, where they completed both a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Affairs, and an Associate's Degree in Associateship of King's College (AKC) by 2017. In 2018, they returned to King's College London to pursue a Master's Degree in International Political Economy, which they completed in 2019. In 2020, they enrolled at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien, where they are currently completing a Diploma Programme in International Law and Legal Studies, Development Economics.
