Lorenzo Saino

Lorenzo Saino has a diverse work experience primarily in the field of engineering and research. Lorenzo started their career as a Research Intern at Orange Labs in 2008, where they focused on mobile network protocols, architecture, information security, and smart card applications. During their time at Orange Labs, they filed five patent applications as a result of their research work, including research on cloud computing security with a focus on access from mobile terminals. In 2011, they joined University College London as a Research Assistant, where they worked until 2015. In 2014, Lorenzo had a brief stint as a Research Intern at Bell Labs. In 2016, they transitioned to engineering roles, starting as a Senior Engineer at Fastly and working their way up to Director of Engineering, a position they currently hold. Throughout their career, Lorenzo has gained extensive experience in research, design, and implementation in various areas, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to their field.

Lorenzo Saino completed their education with a Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from UCL, which they pursued from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from UCL, attending the school from 2007 to 2008. Lorenzo's undergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. In addition, they also spent a year as a visiting student at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2006 and 2007.
