Vaibhav Singh Bais

Senior Scientist at Heptares Therapeutics

Vaibhav Singh Bais has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.

Vaibhav Singh started their career as a Project Trainee at the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) in 2009.

In 2010, they joined the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur as a Research Scholar. Vaibhav Singh'sdoctoral work focused on the study of the sugar nucleotidyltransferase (SNTs) family of enzymes and their substrate promiscuity investigation. Vaibhav Singh made significant contributions by identifying two inherently promiscuous SNTs with commercial importance.

After completing their doctorate in 2016, Vaibhav became a Postdoctoral Researcher at NCBS-InStem. During their one-year tenure, they gained exposure to the drug development process and improved their data analysis skills. Vaibhav Singh also developed the use of SPR as an orthogonal assay for quantitating protein-peptide interactions.

In 2017, they joined Thermofisher Scientific as Scientist II. Vaibhav Singh'skey expertise included immunogen design, antigen expression, purification, and SPR measurement of antibody affinity. Vaibhav Singh also provided computational and biophysical support to affinity maturation projects.

Vaibhav joined Cytiva in 2019 and held two roles. As an Application Specialist, they specialized in Biacore and protein purification using the AKTA platform. Vaibhav Singh also provided training on Unicorn software and chromatography to customers. In 2020, they assumed the role of Fast Trak Scientist, where they were responsible for bioprocess and bioanalytical services. Vaibhav Singh continuously researched new technologies and established new methods to expand and refine their work in various areas.

Most recently, in 2022, Vaibhav joined Sosei Heptares as a Senior Scientist. Details about this role are currently unavailable.

Vaibhav Singh Bais has a strong educational background in the field of science. Vaibhav Singh obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Structural Biology and Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from Dr. D.Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute, Pune, between 2005 and 2010. Additionally, Vaibhav has also held a post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) at NCBS-Instem, specializing in Drug Discovery.
