Brian Matibag

Undergraduate Researcher - Barrick Lab at iGEM Competition

Brian Matibag is an undergraduate researcher developing modular plasmids to express and secrete antimicrobial peptides against plant pathogens for the iGEM Competition. Brian also works as a research apprentice at the UTEX Culture Collection of Algae and assists in various molecular and bioinformatics tasks. Additionally, Brian serves as a student assistant at the Billie L. Turner Plant Resources Center, aiding in the categorization and digitization of herbarium specimens. In their previous roles as a sales associate, laboratory technician, and cook, Brian has demonstrated a diverse skill set and a commitment to excellence in various fields. Brian is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at The University of Texas at Austin.
