Nelson Griffin

SVP of Strategic Sourcing at Independent Purchasing Cooperative

Nelson is the Senior Vice President - Strategic Sourcing of IPC, joining the organization in September 2022. Nelson leads the North American strategic sourcing and the supply chain operations teams.

Prior to joining IPC, Nelson most recently served as Executive Vice President, Chief Procurement, and Real Estate Officer at Red Lobster. In this role, he led all supply chain-related activities, including food, beverage, packaging, capital equipment, smallwares, and distribution services. In addition, he has extensive experience in quality management, which includes food safety and quality assurance.

Before Red Lobster, Nelson served as Vice President of Supply Chain for Darden Restaurants, Inc. He was promoted to that role after leading Darden’s protein product purchasing team for the United States and Canada. Nelson’s robust experience also includes procurement leadership at Kellogg’s and various roles in, procurement, distribution, quality assurance, fleet management, capital equipment, and travel at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc.

Nelson is a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He attended East Oklahoma State College and earned his B.S. in Business Management through the University of Phoenix.
