Wanli Lu is a results-oriented and self-motivated bench scientist with extensive experience in strain engineering and biosynthetic pathway engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at IFF since May 2024, Wanli Lu previously worked as a Lead Scientist at Conagen from May 2018 to May 2024, focusing on complex scientific challenges. Prior roles include Senior Scientist II and Scientist at The Rockefeller University, where innovative approaches involving CRISPR and NGS were employed to discover therapeutic molecules. Earlier research roles at Portland State University and Oregon State University involved significant contributions to biosynthetic studies, including anticancer and antibiotic compounds and the engineering of potent pactamycin analogues. Wanli Lu holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology & Pharmaceutical Sciences from Oregon State University, as well as a Master of Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine from Peking University.
