Amanda Stafford

Amanda Stafford, MSc-Biotech, has over 15 years of experience in the biotech industry. Amanda has held various roles at companies such as Invitae and GeneDx. At Invitae, they were promoted 3 times and served as the Senior Director Of Global Laboratory Operations. In this role, they managed a large budget and oversaw operations across multiple sites. Amanda was responsible for processing a high volume of genetic samples daily.

Prior to their time at Invitae, Amanda worked at GeneDx as the Associate Director - Clinical Lab Operations. Amanda played a key role in the growth of the clinical operations department and implemented new workflows and innovations to increase efficiency. Amanda also developed and launched new tests and enhanced existing methods.

Before their tenure at GeneDx, Amanda worked at Johns Hopkins University in various positions. As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, they collaborated with lab directors to advance clinical operations and expand testing capabilities. Amanda developed and launched several new clinical tests during their time there.

Amanda also has managerial experience, having served as a Manager at GeneDx and as a Technical Supervisor at Johns Hopkins University earlier in their career.

Amanda Stafford, MSc-Biotech, holds a Master's degree in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General from York College of Pennsylvania. In 2014, they obtained additional certifications including CGMBS from the California Department of Public Health and MB(ASCP) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
