Chanakya Chakravarti

VP, India & Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge

Chanakya (Chan) Chakravarti is responsible for implementing investment and asset management strategies in its territory as defined in Ivanhoé Cambridge's annual business plan and strategic plan. He is supported by a team dedicated to this purpose. In addition, he works closely with the Growth Markets team and internal and external stakeholders to establish and consolidate strategic partnerships for major projects in India.

Mr. Chakravarti is a seasoned manager with over 27 years of professional experience, over 20 of which have been in real estate, investment and development in India and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2017, he was Managing Director, Global Real Estate Assets, Asia at JP Morgan Chase. From 2007 to 2011, he worked at Actis Capital LLP, first as Managing Director and then as Chairman and CEO of BlueLife Ltd. in Mauritius, a holding company of Actis Capital LLP. Prior to that, he was co-managing director and country manager at Cushman & Wakefield, South Asia for eight years.

Mr. Chakravarti holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Accounting and Economics) from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, University of Mumbai. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi.
