Joseph Meilen has worked in a variety of roles in the food and beverage industry since 2011. Joseph began as a Waiter/Bartender/Wine Managing Assistant at Taverna Banfi in 2011. In 2012, they worked as a Winemaking/Distilling Assistant at Distillerie Castan. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Wine Expert at Centennial Wine and Spirits and a Key Retail Sales Boulder CO. at Local Merchants of Colorado / Il Castagno. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Wine Expert at Boulder Wine Merchant and an Analytical Chemist - LC-MS & ICP-MS Analyst and Laboratory Technician at Ellipse Analytics. Since 2020, they have been a Scientist and Associate Scientist at MycoTechnology, Inc., and since 2022, they have been a Protein Scientist at Oobli (formerly Joywell Foods).

Joseph Meilen received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Viticulture and Enology from Cornell University between 2010 and 2014.
