Role Overview: 

The Finance Manager will take complete ownership of the local finance function. You need to be someone who wants to build the finance function and be a part of creating a best-in-class support engine and work in creating an exciting brand. This role will work closely with and report to the Head of Finance. Position is based onsite in Cape Town.

What You Will Be Doing:  

  • Monthly financial and management reporting, supporting commentary and schedules
  • Quarterly forecasting
  • Annual budget and 3 year plan submissions
  • Compilation of the annual financial statements in terms of IFRS
  • Analyses of movements in general ledger balances (such as gross gaming revenue, net gaming revenue, marketing and overhead costs etc.)
  • Analyses of all aspects of gross and net margin (bonusing, trading adjustments etc.)
  • Comparison of results to budget and prior year with related variance analyses
  • Analyses of financial data and other operating information to identify efficiency improvements or better cost management
  • Review of financial performance against key metrics and identify areas of concern by providing feedback to the business to support strategic decision making
  • Review of daily PayOps recons for payment service providers as prepared by the recon team.
  • Ensuring all control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and reconciling items cleared in a timely manner
  • Cashflow management and approving of payments
  • Responsible for VAT, Betting Tax and Income tax submissions and returns
  • Responsible for the review and sign off of payroll
  • Systems, processes and internal control improvements
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of business activity and initiatives and impact there-off on financial performance
  • Maintain healthy relationship with internal customers
  • Lead the local finance team
  • Ad hoc assignments, projects and investigations

What You Need for This Role:  

  • Preference for CA
  • 2+ Years' experience in same or similar role
  • Commercially astute, articulate, strong technical skills, insightful and an influential leader impacting at both strategic and operational level
  • Competencies required: Devotion to quality, performing under pressure, Presenting, Structuring, listening skills, Drive, Integrity, Service-Oriented, Analyzing and forming opinion
