In 1997, they became the Chief Geologist at Bronzewing Gold Operations in Western Australia. John then joined Kirkland Lake Gold as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs in 2017.

John Landmark has a Fellowship from the Vincent Fairfax Ethics Centre and a Masters and Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from James Cook University and the University of the Witwatersrand respectively.
