Ryan Keisler

Staff Data Scientist at KoBold Metals

Ryan is a physicist who has worked at the intersection of sensor data and data science for over 15 years. Previously, Ryan was the Chief Scientist at Descartes Labs, where he led a team of geospatial data scientists that blended physical and statistical modeling to provide solutions to a wide range of clients. Prior to that, Ryan worked in observational cosmology at the University of Chicago and Stanford University. His research focused on the cosmic microwave background and was driven by his involvement with the South Pole Telescope project in Antarctica. He holds a Ph. D. in physics from the University of Chicago, and degrees in physics and the Plan II honors program from the University of Texas at Austin.
