John Nelson

John Nelson has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. John started their career in 2007 at Ford Motor Company, where they worked as a Powertrain Engineer and later as a Program Management Engineer. During this time, they were responsible for different aspects of engine and vehicle systems, including quality, cost, function, weight, and timing. John also secured patents related to fuel system control algorithms.

In 2012, John joined MIT Sloan School of Management and pursued an MBA degree. Following their graduation in 2014, they joined Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Senior Business Consultant, where they worked until 2016.

In 2016, John joined Liberty Mutual Surety™ and assumed the role of Director of Analytics and Operational Reporting. John later became the Senior Director of Product Management before being promoted to Chief Data Officer in November 2023.

John's work experience demonstrates a well-rounded background in engineering, consulting, and leadership, with a strong focus on data analytics and product management.

John Nelson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley College of Engineering in 2007. Following this, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from MIT Sloan School of Management between 2012 and 2014.
