Carolyn Lewis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and healthcare management. Carolyn is currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer at MAC Clinical Research since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Clinical Research - Service Evaluations at the UK Health Security Agency from July 2021 to October 2022.

From 2017 to 2021, Carolyn held the position of Head of Research, Audit and Development at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Carolyn'sresponsibilities included strategic and operational leadership of orthopedic research, research governance, and quality improvement functions.

Before that, they worked as a Research Operations Lead/Transformation Manager at UCL from January 2016 to March 2017. Carolyn also served as the Head of Operations at The Institute of Cancer Research (Drug Development Unit and Division of Clinical Studies) from February 2015 to September 2015.

During their tenure at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London from January 2013 to February 2015, Carolyn played a crucial role in establishing the NIHR Ophthalmic Research Facility for experimental medicine. Carolyn implemented organization-wide infrastructure changes to optimize and develop the hospital's capability in conducting high-quality trials in translational medicine.

From September 2008 to January 2013, Carolyn worked as a Clinical Manager at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, they held the position of Honorary Lecturer and Research Programme Manager at the University of Birmingham.

Carolyn's career started as a Clinical Trial Coordinator at the University of Leicester from February 2002 to March 2005. Carolyn also worked as a Research Project Officer at the West Midlands Cancer Intelligence Unit from June 1999 to January 2002.

Throughout their career, Carolyn Lewis has demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills in the field of clinical research and healthcare.

Carolyn Lewis completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology from Teesside University from 1996 to 1999. Carolyn then pursued MSc modules in Medical Statistics at the University of Leicester from 2004 to 2005. Finally, from 2011 to 2016, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in Clinical Research (Executive) from Cranfield University.
