Aija Bersone

Aija Bersone has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Aija is currently working as the Global HR Director at Mapon since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Encompass Digital Media, Inc. as the People Manager Riga from July 2017 to March 2023. Aija'sresponsibilities included overseeing HR strategies, providing support to business leaders and employees, ensuring legal compliance, and managing internal communication. Aija was also involved in the transition process of Encompass Riga from a department in TV3 to a separate company and external broadcast service provider.

Before their role at Encompass, Aija was the HR Manager at TV3 Group from November 2014 to April 2017. Aija provided strategic and hands-on HR support to various legal entities of MTG Latvia, including TV3 Latvia, LNT, Radio Star FM, and Viasat. Aija also played a key role in supporting organizational change processes, such as the merger of TV3 and LNT, and the closure of channel TV5.

Prior to TV3 Group, Aija worked as the Recruitment and Development Manager at Rimi Baltic Group, Rimi Latvia for a brief period from June 2014 to October 2014.

Aija's earlier experience includes roles at Statoil Fuel & Retail Latvia, where they worked as an HR Business Partner from December 2011 to April 2014. Aija provided overall HR support to various departments and was involved in internal communication, recruitment, training, and employer branding activities. Additionally, they served as the Recruitment Manager at Statoil Latvia from November 2006 to November 2011. In this role, they were responsible for recruitment strategies, processes, and activities, both internally and in coordination with external recruiters and headhunters. Aija also played a role in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures at the regional level.

Aija began their career as a Recruitment Specialist at Fast People Latvia Inc. from April 2005 to October 2006. Aija also has experience as a Computer Operator at Biznesa augstskola Turība | Turiba University from October 2001 to February 2005.

Aija Bersone obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Psychology from Rīga Stradiņš University, spanning from 2001 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Strategic Management and Public Relations from the same university, completing it between 2009 and 2011.
