Jesper Winther

CTO and Head of Development at MapsPeople

Jesper Winther has worked in the technology industry since 2001. From 2001 to 2006, they were employed at RTX Telecom A/S, where they held the roles of Project Manager and Project Engineer. During their time at RTX Telecom, they designed and implemented Bluetooth profiles using C, machine-to-server applications using C++, and DSP demodulation software using C and assembler languages. From 2006 to 2012, they worked at ETI in the roles of Technical Product Manager, Program Manager, and Department Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for product management, requirement, risk, and change management, as well as day-to-day management of department resources. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at BAE Systems Detica GCS as a Lead Solution Architect. From 2015 to 2016, they worked at BAE Systems as a Chief Engineer. Finally, from 2018 to the present, they have been employed at MapsPeople as CTO and Head of Development, where they are responsible for the development roadmap and innovation, delivery of features for customer projects, and people management, motivation, and development.

Jesper Winther's education history includes a M.Sc.E.E. in Electrical Engineering and Modern Control from Aalborg University, which they obtained from 1996 to 2001. Prior to this, they attended Langkær Gymnasium from 1992 to 1995, studying Matematisk linie. Additionally, they have taken three courses in Architecture, though the dates of these courses are unknown. Jesper also holds certifications in Scrum Master, obtained in June 2010 at ETI, CCNA, and SAFe from Scaled Agile, Inc.
