Research Scientist - Fat & Oil at Melt&Marble

Semhar Ghirmai, PhD, is a research scientist specializing in fats and oils at Melt&Marble since March 2023. Previously, Semhar served as a research assistant and Ph.D. candidate at Chalmers tekniska högskola from January 2018 to February 2023, focusing on preserving fish quality for improved fish valorization. Prior to this, Semhar worked as an innovation development engineer at Oatly AB from May 2017 to December 2017, concentrating on enhancing the stability and nutritional value of oat-based products, and also held the position of quality control analyst. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science from Chalmers University of Technology (January 2018 - November 2022) and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Biotechnology from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (2012 - 2017), along with a master thesis completed at Nara Medical University in 2016-2017.
