Denise Smith

Denise Smith has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Denise'smost recent position is as Vice President of Provider Network Operations at MetroPlusHealth, where they manage a large team and is responsible for the overall experience of providers contracted for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial individual plans in New York City. Prior to this, they were a Member at the Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry Foundation (WBL).

Denise also worked at Humana, where they held various leadership roles, including Regional Vice President of Provider Experience and Vice President of Market Development. In these positions, they focused on strategic development, value-based contracting, and establishing primary care partnerships for the Northeast Region.

Before Humana, Denise had a significant tenure at Medicare and Retirement at UnitedHealthcare, where they held several roles such as Regional Vice President, Executive Director of Medicare Solutions, Director of Health Care Economics, and Director of Medicare Revenue Reconciliation. Denise'sresponsibilities involved overseeing various aspects of Medicare solutions and revenue reconciliation.

Denise's early career includes positions at Oxford Health Plans, where they served as a Product Manager for Government Programs and held supervisory roles in various operations positions.

Throughout their career, Denise has consistently demonstrated their ability to drive strategic growth, improve clinical and quality performance, and effectively manage provider networks.

Denise Smith earned a BA in Business Management from the College of Saint Benedict in 1991. Denise then went on to Saint John's University, where they also obtained a BA in Business Management, graduating in 1991. Later in their career, they pursued a Master's degree in Marketing from Sacred Heart University, completing their MBA in 2004.
