Amit Pathak

Amit Pathak has over 20 years of experience in internal audit and risk management. Amit is currently the Head of Internal Audit & Risk Management at Nakheel since 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director (Head of Internal Audit) at Omran Group OM from 2017 to 2021, where they were responsible for providing assurance on internal controls and risk management. Before Omran Group OM, Amit was the Vice President (Head of Internal Audit) at DAMAC Properties from 2013 to 2017, overseeing the internal audit function for the real estate development company. Amit also has experience as a Senior Manager - Internal Audit at TECOM Group Dubai from 2009 to 2013 and as the Acting Head of Internal Audit at Tatweer from 2008 to 2009. Earlier in their career, Amit worked as an Internal Audit Manager at Jumeirah Group / Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and as a Finance Controller at Emirates Airline. Amit started their career as an Assistant Audit Manager at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts.

Amit Pathak completed their high school education at Don Bosco School from 1978 to 1990. Amit then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, India, graduating in 1993. Afterward, they enrolled at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and obtained a degree in Chartered Accountancy from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, Amit obtained the certifications of Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Certified Internal Auditors USA in May 2001 and Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in November 1997.
