Jessica Grzegorski

Jessica Grzegorski has extensive work experience in the library field. Jessica started their career as a Collection Services Assistant at the Newberry Library in 2006. Over the years, they held various roles including Cataloging/Acquisitions Assistant, Cataloging Project Librarian, Senior Cataloging Projects Librarian, Principal Cataloging Librarian, and most recently, Head of Cataloging. Throughout their career, Jessica has cataloged special and general collections resources in various formats, managed cataloging projects, supervised and trained staff, and set institutional cataloging policy. Jessica also has experience in copy-cataloging, processing library materials, and answering reference questions. In addition to their work at the Newberry Library, they served as a Library Intern at the Alliance Française de Chicago, where they copy-cataloged and processed French language books and DVDs.

Jessica Grzegorski has a diverse education history. Jessica completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language and Literature and English at Loyola University Chicago from 2000 to 2004. During that time, they also studied French Literature at Aix-Marseille University from 2002 to 2003.

Later on, Jessica pursued further studies in Library and Information Science, earning a Master of Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2007 to 2009. Jessica also obtained a Certificate in Special Collections during this time.

In addition to their formal education, Jessica has obtained several certifications. In 2019, they received the Primo VE Administration Certificate from Ex Libris and the Alma Administration Certificate, also from Ex Libris. In 2018, they completed the Python for Everybody Specialization offered by Coursera. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate in XML and RDF-Based Systems from Library Juice Academy. Moreover, in 2014, they became a Certified Yoga Teacher (200 CYT) through Nature Yoga Sanctuary/Yoga Alliance.
