Mark Carlson, PhD has over 20 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Mark is currently the Director of Project Management at Nimbus Therapeutics, where they oversee project timelines and communication with senior leadership and key stakeholders. Prior to that, they worked at C4 Therapeutics as a Senior Program Manager, leading projects from early development to clinical trials and managing collaborations with external partners. Mark also served as a Project Manager and Scientist at Momenta Pharmaceuticals, where they managed preclinical and developmental projects and led early-stage clone screening for biosimilars. Before that, they worked as a Scientist at Organogenesis, leading research groups focused on keratinocytes and epithelial biology. Mark began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tufts University, where they worked on stem cell techniques and primary cell culture. Mark has also served as a Lecturer at UMass Boston and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas, specializing in gene expression and cancer research.

Mark Carlson, PhD, has a strong educational background in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Mark obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from Vanderbilt University from 1996 to 2000. Following their bachelor's degree, they pursued further studies and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at The University of Texas at Austin from 2000 to 2006, specializing in Biomedical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Mark Carlson has also acquired additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In September 2021, they received a certification in "Accelerating Product Development: Advanced Project Planning Strategies" from the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development. Furthermore, in May 2019, they obtained certification in "Strategic Project Management" from Rice University - The Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies.
