Edward Anderson

Senior Scientist, Degrader Biology at Oerth Bio

Edward Anderson has extensive work experience in various research positions. Edward is currently employed as a Scientist in Cell Biology at Oerth Bio since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from October 2018 to May 2021. In this role, they conducted research on rare diseases and established an in vitro drug screening service. Additionally, they developed a CRISPR-edited stem cell model to identify genetic modifiers and potential drug targets for Batten Disease.

From May 2018 to August 2018, Edward served as an Advanced Intern in Tissue Engineering at United Therapeutics Corporation. Here, they contributed to the development and testing of prototype lung bioreactors and adapted cell isolation methods for analyzing recellularized lung tissue.

Prior to this, Edward worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Brown University from August 2017 to January 2018. Here, they investigated the mechanisms of alcohol reward memory in Drosophila. Edward also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Brown University from September 2011 to July 2017, studying the regulation of Bone Morphogenetic Protein signaling. Edward had an earlier role as a Research Assistant at Brown University from October 2009 to August 2011, where they investigated genetic interactions related to lifespan determination.

Edward began their research career as a Research Technician at Massachusetts General Hospital from August 2008 to September 2009, where they continued their investigation of lifespan-determining genetic interactions. Edward also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Oberlin College from May 2007 to July 2008, focusing on cell signaling pathways.

Overall, Edward Anderson has a broad range of experience in cell biology, rare diseases, drug screening, tissue engineering, and genetic interactions.

Edward Anderson attended Oberlin College from 2004 to 2008, where they pursued a degree in Biology, focusing on General Biology. Following this, they went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Brown University from 2011 to 2018. During their time at Brown University, Edward's research primarily focused on Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry.
