Brian Apps has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and development. Brian is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Osler Diagnostics since April 2023. During their tenure at Williams F1, Brian worked as a Software Engineer and contributed to the development of race strategy pitwall software. Brian also developed backend optical recognition software for scraping timing information from a live television feed and contributed to the driver-controlled vehicle simulator.

Earlier in their career, Brian worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Celoxica, where they investigated tools to translate ISO C into Handel C. Brian also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at RCP Consultants Ltd, where they designed and implemented FX trading and financial datafeed software for Reuters and led a team in rationalizing the AutoLocate product.
