Cindy Strong is currently the VP People & Talent at Outdoorsy. Cindy has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, including their most recent role as Human Resources Director at Mercy Ships from October 2020 to October 2021. In this role, they were responsible for global senior human resources leadership, advising and guiding in the areas of employee relations, consistency, and adherence to applicable employment laws, and talent engagement.
Prior to their time at Mercy Ships, Cindy held various HR positions at companies such as XYZ Corporation and ABC Corporation. In these roles, they were responsible for strategic and operational excellence across core areas of people operations, including performance management, compensation & benefits, policy & compliance, HRIS management, employee experience, and people analytics. Cindy is known for their ability to model an HR business partner approach to challenges and opportunities; establishing and fostering consultative relationships with leaders throughout the organization in order to understand the business and implement the appropriate HR solution.
Cindy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from XYZ University. Cindy is also certified in SHRM-CP and PHR.
Cindy Strong has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from LeTourneau University. Cindy also has an AAS in Management from Kilgore College. Cindy is certified as a John Maxwell Team Trainer, Speaker and Coach, as well as an Everything DiSC Workplace Certification - Online. Cindy is also certified as a John Maxwell Certified DISC Trainer and a SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Finally, they are certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
Cindy Strong reports to Jeff Cavins, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Jennifer Young - Co-Founder & CMO, Jared Josephsen - Chief Legal Officer, and Ross Schwaber - SVP Product & GM Marketplace.
