Robert Sentinella, PhD, CFA

Robert Sentinella, PhD, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Robert is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer at Pangea since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at BlackRock where they held the role of Director, Risk and Quantitative Analytics from April 2017 to August 2021, and previously as Vice President, Trading Research from June 2013 to April 2017. Before joining BlackRock, they worked as a Senior Quantitative Analyst at Thomson Reuters from June 2008 to May 2013.

Robert's career also includes experience in academia and engineering. Robert worked as a Teaching Associate at UC Santa Barbara from September 2005 to August 2007. Prior to that, they were an IGERT Fellow at the National Science Foundation from September 2001 to August 2005. Robert started their professional journey as a Test Engineer at Boeing from January 2001 to September 2001. Additionally, they gained industry experience as a Test Engineer-Summer Intern at Hughes Aircraft Company in 1999.

Robert Sentinella, PhD, CFA, received their education in a chronological order. Robert attended California State University, Chico from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. Robert then went on to pursue further studies at UC Santa Barbara, completing their Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they continued their academic journey at UC Santa Barbara from 2001 to 2007, earning a Ph.D. in Mathematics.

In addition to their extensive academic background, Robert Sentinella also holds several certifications. Robert obtained the CFA Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute in August 2016. Furthermore, they became a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) certified by the National Futures Association in October 2021.
