Mike Lane

Mike Lane has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Mike is currently working at Parkland Hospital as the SVP, Chief Quality and Safety Officer, and Associate Chief Medical Officer. Prior to this, they worked at BJC HealthCare as the Medical Director for Safety and Clinical Quality, as well as an Outcomes Physician. Before that, Mike held various roles at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, including Associate Professor of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Infectious Diseases Division. Mike also served as a Patient Safety Officer and Chief Patient Safety & Quality Officer in the Department of Internal Medicine. Additionally, Mike has experience as a Medical Director at Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, focusing on infection prevention. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Resident in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Mike Lane has a diverse education history. Mike first obtained a B.A. degree in Biology from Colgate University in 1995. Mike further pursued their education and earned an M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University in 2000. Mike then attended Drexel University College of Medicine, graduating in 2004 with an M.D. degree in Medicine. In 2011, they returned to Washington University in St. Louis and completed their education with an MSPH degree. Most recently, Mike pursued an MBA degree from Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School, completing it in 2020. Additionally, Mike has obtained various certifications in fields such as patient safety, high reliability outcomes, infectious diseases, and Just Culture Champion.
