Ian Guidera, EdD has a strong background in the education sector. Ian started their career as a Third and Fourth Grade Teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools in 1999 and later joined KIPP DC as a Saturday School Teacher from 2001 to 2002. Ian then moved on to KIPP Academy of Opportunity, where they served as an Associate Director and Teacher from 2003 to 2007, before becoming the School Director from 2007 to 2010. Following this, they joined WestEd as a Senior Program Associate and later became the Associate Director of the School Turnaround Center from 2011 to 2014. Ian Guidera's most recent position was at the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, where they held various roles, including Chief Schools Officer from 2014 to 2015, Chief Academic Officer from 2015 to 2022, and currently serves as the Chief Academic and Innovation Officer.

Ian Guidera, EdD began their education journey in 1994 at Mount St. Mary's University, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1998. In 1995, they also attended Towson University, although it is unclear whether they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study there. Ian later pursued a Masters degree in Education from National Louis University from 2005 to 2006. Lastly, they completed their Doctor of Education (EdD) in Education Leadership from UCLA between 2009 and 2012.
