Lead Technical Safety Engineer at Perenco S.A.

Shahriar Asgari Motlagh has over 20 years of work experience in the field of technical safety engineering. Shahriar began their career in 2000 as a Loss Prevention Senior Engineer at Sazeh Consultants, where they worked for seven years. Shahriar then joined Petrofac International in 2007 as an HSE Senior Engineer.

In 2010, Shahriar joined Dubai Petroleum as a Senior Technical Safety Engineer. After a year, they moved to Perenco as a Safety Engineer. At Perenco, they quickly progressed to become the Lead Technical Safety Engineer in 2014. In this role, they chaired and facilitated various safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA. Shahriar also conducted in-house risk studies and worked with external consultants for a variety of projects. As a Technical Authority, Shahriar managed the implementation of the Walk-to-Work project across all Perenco platforms. Shahriar was responsible for maintaining safety cases and COMAH reports for 40 offshore platforms and 2 gas terminals.

Throughout their career, Shahriar has demonstrated expertise in technical safety engineering, risk assessment, and project management.

Shahriar Asgari Motlagh pursued their Master of Science degree in Energy Conversion from Sharif University of Technology from 1995 to 2001.
