Barb Nash Sphr

Director, Client/provider Relations at Piedmont Community Health Plan

Barb Nash has a diverse and extensive work experience. Barb began their career in 1978 at the Virginia Employment Commission as an Employment Security Interviewer and later became an Employer Services Representative. From 1981 to 1984, they worked at Winebarger Corporation as a Personnel/Purchasing Manager, overseeing human resources, safety, supplier relations, negotiations, and procurement. Barb then transitioned to the role of VP Employee and Community Relations until 1989. At Golden West Foods, Inc., they served as the Human Relations Manager from 1989 to 1995. Barb then joined Brooks Food Group, Inc., where they initially worked as a Human Relations Manager from 1995 to 1999, and later became the VP Human Relations from 1999 to 2012. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as the Director of Human Resources at Fleet Laboratories. Currently, Barb is the Director of Client/Provider Relations at Piedmont Community Health Plan, where they are responsible for developing and managing the provider network and client relations, as well as strengthening the company's position in the marketplace.

Barb Nash, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Psychology at the University of Lynchburg from 1974 to 1978. Barb then pursued their Master of Administration degree in Personnel Administration from the same university, which they completed from 1979 to 1985. In addition, Barb holds the certification of SHRM-SCP, which they obtained from the Society for Human Resource Management in May 2015. Barb also obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the same institution in May 1995.
