Gary Grimes

Gary Grimes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gary currently holds the position of Vice President, Portfolio Operations at Platinum Equity, starting in September 2023. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Transformation (VPT) at Unical Aviation, Inc. from March 2022 to September 2023.

Before their role at Unical Aviation, Inc., Gary worked at McKinsey & Company, where they held the position of Engagement Manager from October 2021 to March 2022, and as an Associate from 2019 to October 2021.

Gary also has experience in the energy sector, having served as President at M2G Capital Partners/ Global Energy Management, Inc from 2018 to April 2019.

In addition to their private sector experience, Gary has a strong military background. Gary served in the US Navy, where they held various roles including Lieutenant Commander, Operations Officer in USS MICHAEL MURPHY (DDG 112), and Training Officer in USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19). Gary also worked in a Business Development/ Consulting Role in South and Southeast Asia and played a key role in planning and executing Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercises and developing Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) engagements.

Prior to their military service, Gary worked as a Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) Watch Officer at the White House Military Office (WHMO) from 2011 to 2014.

Gary Grimes received their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the United States Naval Academy, where they attended from 2003 to 2007. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business from 2012 to 2014.
