Kat McKibben has a diverse range of work experience in the HR field. Kat is currently working at The New York Times as an HRBP for the news division. Prior to this, they were a founding member of TroopHR, a national HR network focused on empowering People Professionals. Kat has also worked at POLITICO, where they held various roles including Executive Director of Talent, Senior Director of Talent & Culture, Director of Talent & Culture, and HR Business Partner. Additionally, they have experience as an HR Generalist at Slate Magazine, an HR Associate at NPR, a Benefits Analyst at CACI International Inc, a Human Resources Administrator at Veolia Water North America, and a Human Resource Representative at Conseco Insurance Company.
Kat McKibben has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from Indiana University Bloomington. Kat also holds a certificate in Train the Trainer Workshop on Workplace Integrity from the Freedom Forum Institute - The Power Shift Project. Additionally, they have received training in Lead From Where You Are from the Poynter Institute, Executive Communication Skills Workshop, SHRM Learning System from The Catholic University of America, and VIA (Vision in Action) Leadership Training. McKibben has obtained a SPHR certification from HRCI and a certification in Facilitation Skills from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in December 2012. Kat is currently pursuing further education at POLITICO.
