Chukwuka "Chuka" Anyene

Chukwuka "Chuka" Anyene has a diverse work experience in various fields. Chukwuka "Chuka" started their career as an Alumni Relations Intern at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2018. Later, they joined the Cornell Annual Fund as a Student Manager, where they worked from 2017 to 2020.

In 2017, Chuka also began their involvement at Cornell University, where they held multiple roles. Chukwuka "Chuka" worked as a Summer Researcher, analyzing retention rates and mean grades of students taking a supplementary course. Chukwuka "Chuka" concluded that pairing this course with general chemistry improved the performance of underrepresented minority students in STEM fields. Chukwuka "Chuka" also worked at the Laboratory of Rational Decision Making, conducting memory studies and researching the effect of sociological factors on high-risk activities. Additionally, Chuka facilitated sessions as part of the Intergroup Dialogue Project, focusing on intersectionality and social identity.

Chuka's commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in their role as a DEI Contractor at 45 Lemons, where they developed and delivered diversity, equity, and inclusion curriculum for organizations. Chukwuka "Chuka" applied their knowledge of DEI frameworks and conducted extensive research to effectively teach adults from diverse backgrounds. Chukwuka "Chuka" then joined SUNY Downstate College of Medicine as a Diversity, Education, and Research Program Coordinator. In this role, they coordinated a program aimed at diversifying the healthcare field. Chukwuka "Chuka" provided workshops and resources to students from minority and low-income backgrounds, giving them opportunities to succeed in healthcare.

Currently, Chuka is a Summer Consulting Apprentice at ReadySet, where they are gaining valuable experience in the consulting field.

Chukwuka "Chuka" Anyene completed their education chronologically in the following manner:

- From 2016 to 2020, Chuka attended Cornell University and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nutrition Sciences.

- During the same period, from 2016 to 2020, Chuka also attended Valley Central High School and obtained their High School Diploma.

- Subsequently, Chuka pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Southern California. Chukwuka "Chuka" is expected to complete their studies by 2024.

In addition to their academic achievements, Chuka also obtained several certifications:

- In September 2022, they completed the "Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace" certification from ESSEC Business School.

- In June 2022, Chuka obtained the "Conflict Resolutions" certification from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- In February 2022, they received the "STEM and Social-Emotional Learning" certification, also from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- In January 2022, Chuka obtained the "STEM and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy" certification from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- In September 2021, they completed the "Digital Learning & Engaging Virtual Spaces" certification, once again from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- In July 2021, Chuka obtained the "Addressing Anti-Ableism: The Imperative to Include an Intersectional Disability Lens to DEI Initiatives" certification, also from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- In the same month, July 2021, they completed the "Mental Health and Coping in the Context of Uncertainty" certification, once again from the Partnership for After School Education (PASE).

- Lastly, in May 2023, Chuka obtained the "Social-Behavioral Human Subjects" certification from the CITI Program.
