Kat Nielander Cissp

Kat Nielander has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Kat has worked as a Cyber Security Instructor at Applied Technology Academy, EC-Council, and the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security. At Sandia National Laboratories, they served as a Principal Information Systems Security Manager and a Senior Cloud Architect/Cyber Assurance Engineer, where they researched, designed, and developed cyber solutions. Kat also co-owned a Supplementary Cyber Education Training Company called Allied Cyber LLC.

Furthermore, Kat has presented at various events and organizations, including AFCEA Alamo Chapter and Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) where they shared their expertise through webinars and conference presentations. Kat has also been a Web Lecturer at the Texas Department of Information Resources, working towards improving Texas' cybersecurity posture through collaboration and education.

Kat's work experience also includes roles in the United States Department of the Air Force, where they served as a Cyber Security Specialist and held leadership positions in the Laughlin AFB EFB program and Network. Kat was responsible for managing projects, developing policies, and ensuring the security of electronic flight bag systems. Prior to that, they worked as a System And Network Engineer as a self-employed professional.

Kat Nielander CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CEH, CDNA, CSIS, CSSBB completed their Master of Technology - MTech degree in Computer/Information Technology Information Assurance and Security from American Military University between 2017 and 2019. Additionally, they hold various certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Kat also obtained certifications from institutions such as EC-Council, ISACA, and CompTIA.
