What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve product quality from the customer's perspective
  • Ensure the concept quality, usability and functional quality in all vehicle projects to create customer satisfaction
  • Manage the quality market research activities, quality studies and benchmarks to determine customer quality requirements
  • Oversee the definition of quality requirements, the quality maturity management and quality validation of vehicle functions and systems
  • Oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of vehicle test drives within the quality
  • Execute quality approvals of functions and systems
  • Definition of quality processes and technical standards in cooperation with development, product management and operations to ensure product quality
  • Develop and provide leadership to the technical quality teams and oversee daily operations
  • Mentor team members, foster a culture of learning, and facilitate skill development to enhance the capabilities of the Technical Quality team
  • Work cross functionally with other departments within Scout
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role is based out of a Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll take a collaborative approach to achieve ambitious goals. Here’s what else you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in mechanical/vehicle engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
  • 10 years of experience in automotive engineering/product quality, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in an OEM/ Tier 1
  • Very good technical understanding and sound specialist knowledge of vehicle development and vehicle production
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle technology in the areas of body, electrical, chassis, drive systems, battery architecture, infotainment & connect.
  • Very good vehicle assessment skills and a very good understanding of the vehicle as a whole
  • Sound knowledge of quality management
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
  • Leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • ASQ certification, AIAG, VDA experience an asset

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $200,000-$230,000
